Prior to joining SBA, Michael served as Chief Operating Officer at the Broward Partnership for the Homeless. A 23 year veteran in the Human Services field, he is a Certified Addictions Professional, Certified Mental Health Professional, Nationally Credentialed Victim Services Professional, and Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor. Michael completed his clinical training at New York Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia-Cornell Medical Center. After relocating to Florida, he served as a Commander at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office where he held various assignments including Victim Services, the Drug Court Treatment Program, and County Probation.
Madelin Vargas is the Director of Clinical Operations at SBA. She has her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Sociology. Through her educational experience she began her internship at SBA and worked her way up to becoming a Director. In the past five years as a part of the Susan B Anthony family she has worked with the adult clients, the children/youth and their families, additionally accomplished becoming a Certified Addictions Professional, Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor, and a Certified Recovery Residence Administrator. She is dedicated to human services and organizational growth.
Whitney has over a decade of experience in the substance abuse treatment field and is currently Associate Director of Marketing for SBA. Whitney oversees the SBA website, printed materials, social media, special events and community outreach. She provides tours of our center and presentations to community agencies. She has a background in psychology and is a Certified Addictions Counselor. Whitney has a passion for helping those suffering from addiction and educating the community about the disease.
Christopher is the Associate Director of the Career and Adult Education Department at SBA. He has extensive managerial experience within the field of higher education and psychology. Christopher has an M.S. in Counseling and Psychology from Trinity International University and a B.A. in Speech Communications from the University of Georgia. He currently is a mental-health intern working towards becoming a licensed-practitioner.
Mr. Siddiqiis responsible for the overall direction, management and operations of the Career and Vocational Department. His career encompasses over two decades of managerial experience to nonprofit and for profit organizations in various capacities. He has worked as Head of Marketing with Novartis Pharmaceuticalsand travelled across the globe for training and business purposes. When he realized he has a passion to give back to the community, he accepted the challenge and changed his career path.Mr. Siddiqi holds an M.B.A from Nova Southeastern University, Florida. He also has two master degrees in Economics and Indian History with a B.S. in Biological Sciences.
Ms. Crudup, a graduate of Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center in 1998, has held the positions as a Residential Specialist, Case manager/Peer Mentor and now currently Residential Services Manager. She is also a Certified Addiction Counselor who plans on continuing her education in Social Work. Sonya is dedicated to providing structure and support to the women and children that we serve and also shares her experience, strength and hope with the persons served living with the disease of addiction.
Brendin comes to SBA with nearly 10 years of working in the non-profit and for-profit sectors in the healthcare, infectious disease and management training fields. He has his Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in administration, health care and the law. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh in Afro-Feminist Cultural Anthropology.
