Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center is Awarded the Prestigious
211 Non-Profit of the Year Award – Collaboration
SBA and Memorial Hospital Collaborate
We’re very excited to announce that we’ve won the prestigious 211 Non-Profit of the Year Award for our Collaboration with Memorial Hospital to provide pregnant women with a way to deliver a clean and healthy baby. Our Maternal Addiction Program was created to enable pregnant women that are addicted to opiates (pain medication) a safe and effective way to detox and deliver a baby that’s not addicted.
To date, we’ve delivered 36 clean and healthy babies as a result of this program. Thanks to Memorial Healthcare, and their willingness to work together for a solution for these desperate mothers, this has become a successful program. We look forward to supporting more mothers through our detox collaboration and the continuing care and support we provide at our Pembroke Pines residential treatment center. Pregnant women and mothers and their children live together in a supportive environment at the Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center while mothers are able to focus on their recovery.
Last year, Susan B. Anthony Recovery Center celebrated 20 years of providing help, hope and healing for mothers and their children. Our center helps break the cycle that can separate mothers from their children by placing them in the foster care program. It is an honor to be recognized for our work and the truly life-changing results our center brings to women and their children.
